_Phallophoria_ is a series of one-off, cylindrical vessels in black clay, inscribed with large phalli.

As talismans for luck and prosperity, penises were used as decoration for the home in Ancient Greece and, later, Rome. Found on artefacts including pottery, statuary, jewellery and even wind chimes, the penis was a commonplace motif that some have tied to worship of Priapus. The phallus also frequently appeared on herms (pillars) used to mark borders, crossroads, and boundaries for protection. Beginning with a small commission in early 2021, _Phallophoria_ has grown into a continuing project where I am able to reconnect with this ancient tradition.
